A Marginal Way Reflection
By Glenn Coppelman and Donna Maxwell
A cherished place for those fortunate enough to find it, either by accident or intention, and become held by its rugged beauty and natural charm, the Marginal Way is a gem of the highest grade. During their retirement years, our parents, Maurice and Mauricette Coppelman, found peace and enjoyment on their many trips to Ogunquit. Their walks along the Marginal Way were often bookended with a restful ice cream break at the beach, and a tasty lobster roll at Billy’s on Perkins Cove once they concluded the round-trip walk. They loved this place and couldn’t wait until it was time to visit again.
We would often meet up with them on their Ogunquit get aways, sharing in their love for this special place. So, we thought that a Marginal Way Plaque dedication in their names would be a fitting tribute to the beautiful people they were, and to the beautiful place they returned to time and time again.
Each year we visit the Marginal Way in remembrance of our mom and dad. We walk the path they walked, always stopping to lay flowers at their Plaque, spending quiet time at Serenity Point, and of course enjoying a lobster roll in their memory!
