Moon Rise Drawbridge

This woodcut expresses the abstract geometric shapes and distant configurations of our
architecture in the Northeast. Upon the sea waters of estuaries and harbors are mirrored the play of interweaving lights and darks of buildings and piers crowned by steeples and mast tops. I am fascinated by the ghostly quality of these buildings looming out of the mists, endowed with strength and endurance. For me, historic architecture represents a bridge between one life-span into another.
Abandoned not by time, but by those who built them, our structures remain and continue to wage war with nature’s elements.

Morning Walk

Dianne’s interest in art starts with the natural world, often inspired by a moment in nature. She paints en plain air and in the studio creating interpretations of those ethereal moments. Dianne holds a degree in Art Education as well as a Masters in Educational Leadership. She taught drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, stained glass, and AP art to high school students in Maine for over 21 years. Now Dianne devotes all her time to painting, exhibiting and jurying as a professional artist. She paints with oils but also creates water colors and pastels, enjoying the nuances and challenges of each medium. Her subjects range from land and seascapes to still life, animals and flowers. Dianne maintains a studio in Kennebunk, Maine and Naples, Florida.
We are very pleased to exhibit Dianne Anderson’s collection of original paintings at The Beth Ellis Cove Gallery at 294 Shore Road.
